2022 Series

The Law Library will be presenting a series of short research workshops on Thursdays at 3:00 p.m. Please see the descriptions below for more details and for the Zoom link for each virtual presentation. Contact loyolalawreference@luc.edu with any questions.

March 17 - Current Awareness

In this virtual presentation, you will learn how to use current awareness resources such as alerts, legal news sources, and blogs to keep up with the latest developments in the law and the legal profession.

March 24 - Vault Law

Join Tawnee Rozier-Byrd of Firsthand/Vault Law for a live, virtual demonstration of how to use Vault Law's law firm profiles, rankings, legal industry guides, legal careers blog, and other career resources.

March 31 - Procertas

The Procertas Legal Tech Assessment (LTA) is a platform that offers tutorials and assessments on Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Acrobat. To help Loyola Law students achieve proficiency in using these core productivity tools before getting out into practice, the Law Library is providing access to the LTA. If you are interested in learning more about why use of these technology tools matters to legal employers, please join us for a virtual presentation on the importance of technological competence and the LTA’s role in building your skill sets.

April 7 - Advanced Research Tips

Sharpen your research skills by using better Boolean searches, fields, and filters. With these techniques you will focus your search and spend less time looking through irrelevant hits in your search results. Please join us for this virtual presentation by Reference Librarian Nan Norton.

April 21 - Effective Use of Online Study Aids and Exam Prep Resources for Finals

We invite you to join Law Librarian Tom Keefe for a look at the various online study aid and exam prep resources available to Loyola Law students through the Law Library, including sample questions, practice exams, and flowcharts.
