West Academic Early eBook Access Fall 2023

Loyola University Chicago School of Law has opted into West Academic's Early eBook Access program for fall semester 2023. This program provides students with free, temporary eBook access to all West Academic and Foundation Press casebooks adopted at Loyola, beginning a week before classes start and continuing through the first two weeks of the semester. This program helps alleviate potential inventory and shipping issues, ensuring that students have access to their materials in time to prepare for the start of fall classes.

Instructions for accessing these eBooks are provided below.

Interlibrary Loan/Intercampus Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Services:

Returning:

You can return the book at the 3rd floor Law Library Circulation Desk. Interlibrary loan is a privilege that relies heavily on maintaining a good relationship with the lending libraries.  Late return of books can damage our relationship with the lending libraries. Please return ILL books on time.  Please email Shane Peterson at speterson4@luc.edu with any questions.

Borrowing:

Double check the Loyola library catalog to see if Loyola owns the item you need.

  • If your item is available at another Loyola University Chicago library, you can use the "Get item," and staff members will retrieve items for you. Log into your library account, and select Law Library as your pickup library. Please allow a few days for delivery.
  • If Loyola University Chicago does not own the item, you can then request it via Interlibrary Loan (ILL).  Log into your account here to request the book/article.

Check your ILLiad account here.

Questions about ILL can be directed Shane Peterson speterson4@luc.edu.

Study Rooms

Law Library study rooms are for Loyola Law students only. Loyola Law students can now reserve Law Library study rooms online. Instead of having to come to the circulation desk to check out a room, students can view what rooms are available and reserve up to three hours of study time. Review and reserve now

The following policies and procedures should be followed:

  • Study rooms are intended for two or more Loyola law students who need a place to study, work, and talk in a quiet area.
  • Individual law students using a room, or groups without proper reservation, may be asked to leave if a group with a proper reservation needs the room.
  • Rooms may be used for three hours only. Groups using rooms for more than three hours may be asked to leave if needed by other groups.
  • Users should not cover the glass of the study room windows.
  • All other library regulations apply in study rooms.
