This research guide covers the resources available to members of the Loyola community who are researching Child Law. For the purposes of this guide, "Child Law" includes legal issues such as adoption, child abuse, child support, custody and visitation rights, and juvenile justice. Most of the controlling primary law in this area is state law, although there is some Federal and International law as well. While the guide focuses on Illinois law, there are links to sources for finding laws from other states, as well as to uniform and model laws.
This guide does not attempt cover related subjects such as marriage, divorce, and spousal abuse, nor does it cover ancillary subjects such as tax and estate planning, although those topics may be discussed in some of the resources cited in this guide.
Access to some of the electronic resources included in this guide is limited to users who have a valid Loyola ID and password; access to other resources is restricted to the law school community only.
