What is Transactional Lawyering?

Black's Law Dictionary defines transactional lawyer as "a lawyer who does not litigate; an attorney whose work is accomplished primarily in the office without court appearances." It has also been termed office practitioner or office lawyer. Some areas that are mostly transactional include, but are not limited to: corporate law, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, and contract drafting.
